Area Police
Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Police then located numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.
A high-ranking political figure commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
