The star has handed over the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound award cash to the Music Venues Trust, which operates to protect the UK's independent live music spots.

He was presented with the cheque on mid-October as his third album the album was named the best record of the last 12 months.

He has chosen to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in appreciation of the crucial part local spots had in his initial steps.

"As an artist wouldn't be doing what I am doing today if it hadn't been for all the performances I did around the region, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," stated Sam Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these venues have ceased operations – roughly 16% of the entire UK sector.

Recently, major artists such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to support the industry, by including a modest fee to their ticket costs, which supports independent venues.

Sam Fender also took part, collecting over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to assist 38 grassroots venues across England, Scotland, and Wales.

These funds assisted venues that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges arising from water damage, blazes and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, court cases and noise complaints.

Other venues received funding support in upgrading infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that directly benefitted performers and fans.

"The notion that revenue from shows in major spaces supports the smaller venues, where it begins for artists like me, is just logical," the star has said.

The musician is far from the only musician to donate his honor prize money to good deeds.

Back when Pulp received the prize in the year 1996 for their release their work, vocalist Cocker declared that the group would contribute their prize money to the organization the charity.

That year, rapper and singer the artist shared her award among multiple charities, including the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.

"And I donated a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was growing up and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite explained to the media.

Two years ago, the band gave their winnings to the community center that nurtured their group, alongside other grassroots music organisations.

Additionally the 1994 recipients M People gave their prize to a MS organization after a acquaintance was diagnosed the illness.

"Winning was sufficient," said vocalist Small. "The money was the bonus but we didn't need the extra, because we had the honor. So our success touched another person's life."

Recently, the MVT announced it had rescued several small stages in that region, by bringing them into local control.

The first in the city and the second in the city were purchased under the public acquisition scheme, which is supported by the arts council and music fans who acquire "ownership units" in the properties.
